Technical problems

Sorry for the problems of the blog - we're looking at why stories aren't reaching our twitter feed (or loading new stories).

A blog on Cameron's 'fightback' speech, and the rest of the weekend's action, shall be posted tomorrow morning.

As I was saying before...

Well, Textual owes you all an apology. The blog has been as dry as the New Labour Policy Unit. Please accept my apologies for this.

Dissertation is going well(ish). Topic decided upon and a freedom of information request (hopefully) being looked at.

Now what's that news about Gordon's eye...

More news from the TUC

Incidentally, as an aside from the TUC post below, I'm aiming to be at the Congress on Wednesday and hopefully speaking to a former government minister. Watch this space!

And that was that. Part 2

UPDATE:

This leaving the blog alone gig really hasn't started well. Umm....

Since I wrote the previous piece, Orange (praise be to them) has found signal and I have received a fair few dozen texts. I'm current in the Welsh borderlands. Fun times.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, in my absence a series of guest articles shall be appearing on the blog, hopefully. Thanks to those who have agreed and they'll be published throughout the summer.

If you're dying to have an article published on a 'buzzing' blog (HA!) why not email us: textualrelationsblog@live.co.uk
- all articles will, of course, be credited and a free mug send your way.

And that is that.

"That is that, that is the end'" Tony uttered those words, complete with fake tear and turn to camera one as he left office. He then spent four months in the summer sun.

We're kind of leaving office but in a different sense.

Well, it's not the end but merely a wee break here at Textual Towers. The missus is back from her hillwalking in Wales and there are holidays to book - and perhaps more importantly holiday shopping to be done.

So, like last summer, I'll update the blog on a less frequent basis but I shall leave you with some music and the old testcard. Where would we be without Testcard B...rown?

Take care all and enjoy the summer sun whilst it's out!

Textual is in Liverpool...

Well, Textual Relations has been taking a bit of a break recently.

I'm in Liverpool for a few days researching the Militant Tendency of Liverpool in the early '80s, (Hatton an all!). That and actually doing some work for the ye olde rent.

I'll be back by the end of the week.

More blog news

Well, it's back to normal folks.

A trip to Leeds, Liverpool and York have all proved welcome distractions for Mr Relations.

But my oh my, haven't things gone tits up... Britain's top terror chief clearly hasn't heard of document wallets, more MPs have been on the fiddle (worryingly, this now seems the norm rather than the exception) and fresh questions have emerged over the handling of the G20 protests.

Nick Clegg's announcement though seems to have promise. More soon.

Blog news

Well, I'm off to a politics conference at the University of Leeds today. Lots of talk on democratization, the global economic downturn and possibly some free drinks.

After that, straight back to Liverpool and then onto Shropshire.

Barring any earth-shattering news, like Gordon's head exploding ala 'Alien 3 - The Economic Edition', I shall now be off for a few days.

Take care all!

Some changes to the blog

Well, as the last of the large essays are now out of the way a few changes will be happening soon.

We've recently (you may have noticed Cherie-gate) been playing around with the site being more image rich and video laden. I'm still trying to figure out how best this will work - not least actually getting the video in the first place.

I've also finally updated a working blog-roll. I've been going through a bit of a virtual clear-out and also added a more fuller profile of both what the blogs about and who I am. I'm still working on improving that as well...
So, expect a few changes and if we disappear for a while - fear not. We shall be back.

Famous last words?

Sorry seems the easiest word to say...

Hello campers.

You've missed me, haven't you. It's no use denying it. Well, Mr Relations is back from the essay bound gulags and prepared to write some political nonsense again.

Incidentally, I've not been too busy to set-up a twitter account - blame Mrs Relations - and so, there might start to be some cross over with that one.

In the meantime, sorry again for the absence and as Bill would say, let's get back to it.

Anyone see that Margaret drama? Opinions people... Mr Relations is unsure about it, to say the least...

What is Mash doing?
